MPD: Gun recovery on the 2300 block of North Capitol St NW on 02-11-2017

On 2/11/17 at approximately 12:30AM members of the Fifth District Crime Suppression team conducted a traffic stop in the 2300 blk of North Capitol Street NW. The driver was found to have  a black semi-automatic 9mm Kel-tec handgun hidden in his waistband. The male also had  inside the vehicle eleven 12 gauge shotgun shells, which were all in an opened, unlocked cardboard ammunition box. A very dangerous stop in the early morning hours ended with a gun and a potential dangerous individual removed from our streets. Good job on the Fifth District Officers on another proactive safe night.
