The corner of 1st and Bryant Street has a serious and continuous problem. Someone is knocking out car windows. This has been going on for more than a year. Even though there is a police camera on that corner, the police are doing nothing. I want to alert our neighbors. My family has been the victim of these hits on 4 different occasions in the last 18 months. Do you have a suggestion?

TIME TO START PLANNING
THE 2017 BCA HOUSE TOUR --
and we are seeking VOLUNTEERS!
The Bloomingdale Civic Association (BCA) sponsors a biennial fundraising House Tour -- one of the BEST in DC! This event will be held in October 2017, with proceeds used primarily for college scholarships for youth who either attend schools serving Bloomingdale and/or live in Bloomingdale.
The Tour event provides the public the opportunity to become familiar with some of Bloomingdale's architectural gems and their varied interior design and up-to-date renovations, the neighborhood's rich history and heritage, its village-like character, and its businesses and heritage trail. You, your friends and family will love it!
The Tour is an all-day event featuring: A Signature Program Book with photos and descriptions of Tour houses, and information on Bloomingdale's history/heritage and businesses; Design Workshops conducted by Bloomingdale architects and designers; and a fabulous (but thoroughly welcoming) Art Show and Reception featuring some of Bloomingdale's leading artists with their works available for sale -- and more! (NOTE: to see a former house tour Program, go to
This year's history section of the Program Book will focus on 'Arts and culture' . So we are especially eager to have volunteers eager to delve into this aspect of Bloomingdale history. The 2017 BCA House Tour Committee will hold its first meeting on WEDNESDAY, FEB. 1st AT 7 PM AT MY HOME-- 49 T ST., NW. If you are interested in:

North Mountain Pastures is a small family farm dedicated to producing great food using ecologically sound production practices. We farm on 84 acres in Perry County, Pennsylvania, in a way that heals the land, nourishes people, and treats animals with respect. This means animals are naturally raised outdoors, on grass or in carefully managed woodlots, and fed only non-GMO grain. We don’t use hormones, antibiotics, or other chemicals to medicate livestock.
The Meat CSA is how we sell pastured pork, pastured chicken, pastured turkeys, and grassfed lamb and beef, as well as artisan all natural cured meats in central Pennsylvania and the Washington, D.C. area.

As a McMillan Park supporters, its time to bring the people and the noise to #PROTECTOURPARK !
Of course, we defended McMillan Park at the Courts in 2016 and won >> http://www.savemcmillan.org/le gal
Now, the Mayor and Councilmember Kenyan McDuffie are doubling down to destroy it! We must protect our park. Here's how this week.
Two meetings to attend this week
(The key one is Thursday)

========================
Monday, Jan 30, 6:30 pm, at the Zoning Commission, 441 4th Street NW, Suite 200South
========================
On January 23, city planners and lawyers tried to have a closed door meeting about McMillan Park. We disrupted that and knocked for transparency, forcing officials to announce they will have an open meeting tomorrow, Jan 23. See our efforts to demand an open discussion (it was live on twitter) >> https://twitter.com/dc4reality /status/823669538344628226
So be there tomorrow, Monday January 30, with Friends of McMillan Park (http://friendsofmcmillan.org) to attend the Zoning Commission meeting where they will announce their proceedings follow the Court of Appeals slapping down their decision.

========================
Bring your noisemakers, signs, family, and friends to protect McMillan Park at this government-run meeting whereby officials will explain when they intend to start destroying our park. We will not stand for this ignorance and privatization, especially after the Court victory. Last time we checked, we didn't elect mini-Trump to Mayor and Council, but why do they act this way?

I would like to (reply with X between the parentheses for the items that interest you):
( ) Join a team of folks in writing or in person to go back to the Council and ask for a public roundtable to get the facts on the table regarding McMillan Park. We would specifically be seeking help from Robert White, Trayon White, Elissa Silverman, and Mary Cheh to start.
( ) Help with hosting a series of tours / events at the park to continue to show people how magical this space is.
( ) Start planning direct action events against the perpetrators of the destruction of our park, namely Kenyan McDuffie and Phil Mendelson, and the Mayor.
( ) I would like to join a Press Team to help edit and send press releases to local press and make followup calls with press contacts.
( ) I would like to host a coffee/tea gathering, or any kind of event at my house or any venue to raise money and awareness about the park.
( ) Help us do some Internet research to get the facts and data we need to push towards victory
( ) Join the Phone Banking Team so we can get out calls for events / actions
( ) Join the door-knocking team to continue to update neighbors nearby the park about our efforts
