Ram it down our throats, andhave us pay you to do it, MY GOD, you are an embarrassment to the fair minded people of The District of Corruption. Force 31,000 cars a day onto the existing 38,000 per day, endangering everyone on our streets and increasing air pollution, as well as congestion, and dangerous EMS response. The "walkable neighborhoods of EYA" with 600 buses to ferry your rich yuppies to and from the metro,, let them walk!
Your business VMP, and desperate collusion with corrupt DC officials Bowser, Mendelson, McDuffie, Miller, Hoskins, Neil Albert, Kenner are a disgrace! To profit on damaging public health and gobble up our green landscape like the pigs you are. You VMP, H&K must feel very comfortable in the devastation of the Trump years, as you share a mean, vindictive destructive need and worship of mnoney over community and fairness, CYNICISM and hatred of people and nature alike.
When you hired the Fontaine agency to further pollute the neighborhood were you as proud as Anne Corbet, who cried how this development is so great, as her waistline expanded at the taxpayer expense.
Only the miserable DC govt. would put the community through this never ending exercise in MEDIOCRITY, this "Dog and Pony" show called the Entitlement Process of Approvals,, never rejection but not FIXED, come on, and you are proud, OMFG. To wrestle away from the children and families of DC a decent outdoor green space, and improved quality of life, for your pathetic corporate wretched EXCESS! The biggest land theft since Manhattan, corrupt, Guilty!
Hadn't heard from Mr underground agriculture in a while. Guess Dan is off his meds again.
Listen, "Hi!", at least he has the courage to use his own name and is actually making some *very* valid points here, even if the messaging itself could be done more diplomatically.
I do understand his being frustrated, however, at the drawn-out nature of the process, the fundamental lack of the developers & the government ever addressing the real issues (including the ones Dan raises here, as well as those raised by D.C.'s auditor, which are truly disturbing, such as the no-bid nature of this contract and the resulting risk of massive collusion and corruption amongst our elected officials and the developers).
If you really look forward to having the already highly congested (during rush hour) First Street and North Capitol arteries further slowed down to a literal crawl (only then at all times of day and night), including the attendant accidents, road rage of thruway commuters, and risk to the life and health of pedestrians and residents, then you may not see any problem here. The pollution may also not be of concern to you. But I personally hear what Dan is saying (and mind you, I do not know the man). And like him, I dread not only the horrendous years of construction itself (after the big WASA dig, no less), which will be an absolute nightmare, but also and perhaps even more the day of completion of this mammoth project (which coincidentally indeed steals valuable & historic green space from D.C.'s residents, as Dan correctly points out). Andreas.
