Homicide in the 200 block of T Street, NE
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 200 block of T Street, Northeast.
On Sunday, January 11, 2015, at approximately 12:40 am, members of the Fifth District responded to investigate the sound of gunshots reported in the 200 block of T Street, NE, where they discovered a juvenile male suffering from apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim has been identified as 17-year-old Andrew Newman, of Northeast. Investigation into the incident continues. Suspect information is not available at this time.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
