In response to WMATA’s decision to close the Red Line between NoMa-Gallaudet U and Fort Totten for 45 days from Saturday, July 21 through Monday, September 3, 2018 for major repair work, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) in coordination with WMATA is taking steps to mitigate the impact to the transportation network. Steps that may affect your community include:

• Establishment of a TEMPORARY Bus Lane in both directions on Rhode Island Ave NE from North Capitol St to 12th St NE

• TEMPORARILY extending Rush Hour Parking Restrictions on North Capitol St from Massachusetts Ave to Michigan Ave

DDOT and WMATA have taken several steps to inform the public of the impact of the Red Line closure and have notified and coordinated with community representatives, including, affected Area Neighborhood Commissions (ANC), Civic or Neighborhood Associations, and the Ward 5 Councilmember.
