Subject: Ward 5 Movie Night

Neighbors,

It’s not every day that I experience a moment where everything seems perfect.  I am extremely privileged and humbled to have felt one of those moments this past Monday at Union Market, during the Ward 5 Movie Night.  The beautiful summer sunset, the sounds of children imitating Black Panther characters, and families in lawn chairs, created the perfect night in Ward 5.  The presence of our local business community, youth organizations, and Ward 5 community leaders all in one place made the night extremely special.

Many of our seasoned Ward 5 residents were able to recreate the date night experience of a drive-in movie.  Billy and Martha Montgomery shared memories of their drive in theater dates from the 70's.
The opportunity to laugh with the community, share family stories, and see so many residents of Ward 5 in one place was amazing.  Our community need more moments like this and as the leader of Ward 5 I commit to providing those opportunities.  Thank you to everyone who was able to make it on Monday and I look forward to our next Ward 5 event.

In Service,

Kenyan
