big event at Strathmore coming with Lady Gaga's violinist, Judy Kang and Bloomingdale's The Horman Violin Studio (HVS)

See this message from Bloomingdale resident and violinist Amy Beth Horman:

I wondered if you could spread the word about a big event for my studio happening on the evening of Monday, November 11th at Strathmore Hall.

The back story is a little interesting and there is an article coming out in the Gazette this Wednesday featuring it.  The synopsis of the story is that Lady Gaga's violinist from the Monster Ball Tour started following me on twitter a few months ago and when I complimented her on twitter on her new album coming out featuring violin tracks, I also asked her if she would ever come to DC to do a class for my students.  To my surprise, she said yes!  Strathmore agreed to co produce the event for the Mansion and we received donations from Maryland Classic Youth Orchestra and Whitman High School to bring her in.  She will be staying here with us in Bloomingdale for a few days around the event!

The event is an IMPROV master class on how to broaden out into different genres using conservatory technique. It will feature a number of my students playing popular tunes and Ms. Kang helping them broaden their ideas through improvisation. This will be followed by a collaborative performance of Saint Saens' Intro and Rondo Capriccioso that I arranged for Ms. Kang and the students and a light reception/CD signing.

The attachment below is the event flyer showing all necessary details.  I hope to see some of you there! Please note that while this event is FREE you do need to reserve a seat due to limited capacity by emailing bscott@strathmore.org and requesting the number of seats you would like.

If anyone has any questions, please email me at the studio at hormanviolinstudio@gmail.com.
