BRAU CELEBRATES INAUGURAL PUBLIC DAY WITH EVENTS
AROUND
THE DISTRICT ON APRIL 15th
Washington, DC - April, 2018 - On April 15, 2011, Brandon
Skall & Jeff Hancock tapped the first keg of The Public by their new
brewery at Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights, and with that, officially brought
local craft beer production back to the District of Columbia. Join DC Brau in
celebrating PUBLIC DAY on Sunday, April 15th, marking its
seventh anniversary and its flagship pale ale with an all day, city-wide
celebration.
“After seven years, seeing people at the
corner bar or an airport lounge enjoying The Public never gets old,” says
co-founder & CEO Skall. “The DC beer community has exploded since we tapped
that first keg of pale ale at Meridian Pint in 2011. There are more choices for
people to ‘drink local,’ and the fact that they still choose The Public is not
lost on us. This is our way of saying thank you for the ongoing support, and
celebrate our roots.”
In addition to specials on The Public
offered at bars and restaurants across the city, DC Brau has several featured
events scheduled for PUBLIC DAY on Sunday, April 15th,

About The Public
Over the past seven
years, The Public has won awards from acclaimed competitions across the globe,
including the U.S. Open Beer Championship, the Australian International Beer
Awards, the New York International Beer Competition, the AllTech Commonwealth
Cup, and more. Brewed in the classic American Pale Ale style, The Public Pale
Ale incorporates Vienna & Medium Crystal Malts, and Centennial hops. The
first sip of this 6% ABV light amber brew presents a rush of assertive
bitterness amid hints of candied orange peel and grapefruit flavors. A firm
malt backbone imparts the balancing sweetness in a combination that begs for
more. The Public is available year-round in 12 ounce cans and on draft.
