"Over 100 Local Businesses Ask DC Residents to Vote Against Ballot Measure 77 on June 19th

Boundary Stone, Red Hen, and dozens of other local restaurants just released this open letter asking DC residents to vote no on Ballot Measure 77 on June 19. This misleading measure claims to increase pay for tipped workers, but in reality measure 77 would decrease take-home pay for many tipped workers.
  • The group pushing the bill claims restaurants oppose it because they're being greedy, but in reality the majority of local restaurants operate at margins of 3-5% and would not be able to absorb the cost increases of this measure without significantly raising prices; many would close.
  • The majority of tipped workers are against this measure.
  • Restaurateurs asking residents to vote no include the owners of Tail Up Goat, All Purpose, Maxwell, Big Hunt, Primrose, Central Michel Richard, Thip Kao, The Royal, and dozens of other favorites.
Please help spread the word, as the group pushing this measure—a New York-based group that didn’t work with anyone in DC when drafting the legislation—is well funded.
