The Unified Scene Theater’s One-Day Sketch-Writing Workshop Returns This Saturday, May 12th! 

If you've ever wanted to write sketches, videos, or material for a one-person show, or simply learn the mechanics behind writing funny in general, then we at The Unified Scene Theater have your workshop right here.

Come learn sketch writing from one of the funniest sketch-writing/performance troupes in DC, Bad Medicine  This one-day workshop, happening this Saturday, will walk you briefly through the history of sketch comedy, and then through the components of a good sketch. Once that's done, you'll be invited to brainstorm a few ideas for sketches that you'll then "pitch" to your classmates, collaborate around that idea, and then write and read through a finished sketch -- precisely the way they do it in writers' rooms at SNL and elsewhere. In short, you'll go from initial idea to premise to finished, performance-ready sketch in one afternoon, and walk away with a solid grounding in foundations of sketch comedy, as well as how to craft and write your own sketches.

Again, this Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm (one-hour lunch break) at The Unified Scene Theater (80 T Street NW, Bloomingdale). Spaces are limited, so, yeah, get on this. Register here!
