Howard University Hospital could be moving.
Howard University has floated a plan to
relocate its hospitalto another part of its Northwest D.C. campus and redevelop
the facility’s current site. The school unveiled the concept for that potential
3 million-square-foot development project at a Community Advisory Committee
meeting Oct. 28, per a tweet from Eric Fidler, chief
information officer of the D.C. Department of For-Hire Vehicles.
The future hospital expansion, as it’s
labeled on images from the presentation, is part of “the beginning stages” of
an update to Howard’s campus master plan, the university confirmed to the
Washington Business Journal. The CAC meetings are held quarterly, “to update
both internal and external stakeholders about planning activities,” Howard said
in a statement to the WBJ.
