The details of the Washington Gas work in the area of the 2200 block of Flagler Place are as follows:
Washington Gas crews are beginning work on Part 4 of the First Phase of the DC Water Tunneling Project.  This work is primarily at the intersection of Flagler Pl NW and Adams St NW.
·         The work involves the abandonment  of a section of gas main at the intersection of Flagler Place and Adams Street. As part of this work two excavations will take place on Adams in front of 143 & 145 along with 135 & 139.
·         New plastic gas mains will be installed in the 2200 block in front of the addresses listed below.
·         Additionally, the addresses below reflect the services that will be impacted by the installation of the new main.
[specific street addresses on the 2200 block of Flagler Place NW are listed.]
·         Notification letters have been delivered to the 7 addresses above as they will need to schedule their service replacements.
·         Washington Gas crews were in the neighborhood on Friday to distribute notification letters to the remainder of the residences affected by this work. Crews remain in the area today to deliver notification letters and to try to answer any inquiries.

The duration of the work described above will be contingent on weather and other factors with an anticipated completion timeframe of 20 days.
I have included an updated Fact Sheet with the information above as well as a project overview and the project schedule that was distributed in December. This is the same schedule and overview that has been distributed at community meetings by Washington Gas and DC Water and has been included on the Bloomingdale Neighborhood blog. Please feel free to share this with others within the community.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.
