In the recent November 4 General Election, 44.6% of registered voters in ANC 5E07 cast their ballots (compared with 37.5% of voters throughout Ward 5). But, as many of you are aware, the election of an ANC 5E07 Commissioner had many twists and turns, and the winner was not officially declared until December 10 after a vote re-count (and a re-count of the recount). I am pleased to announce that I emerged as the winner!! As I have shared with many of you, I am extremely proud of the quality, efforts, and transparency of the Holliday Campaign And I congratulate my opponent for the obvious hard work she devoted to her campaign. I think, together, we made a positive difference in civic participation and voter turnout in ANC 5E07.
So now, during this holiday season, is the time to come together to celebrate the support this diverse community has given to so many (including myself), to envision varying community futures, to take the time to personally thank others who have participated in community efforts, and to welcome the 2014 holiday season.
