ANC5E wants 51% of a community to vote on Historic District designation in order to obtain ANC5E support

At tonight's Eckington Civic Association meeting, ANC5E 04 Commissioner Sylvia Pinkney reported on a decision made the ANC5E commissioners at the recent Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting regarding how ANC5E would proceed with any Historic District nominations that might come before the commission.

For example: if 51% (or greater) of the homeowners of a given ANC5E community voted in support of neighborhood Historic District designation, then ANC5E would support that pursuit.

If 51% (or greater) of the homeowners in a given ANC5E community voted in opposition of neighborhood Historic District designation, then ANC5E would support that opposition.

If there is a vote in support or opposition and that vote is less than 51% of the homeowners of the given ANC5E community, then ANC5E would not add its support or opposition accordingly.
