Washington, DC – The 52 O Street Artist Open Studios invites
the public into the creative spaces of the artists, designers and educators who

including FabLab DC & 7 Drum City. Visitors will have the
opportunity to meet artists, learn about their creative process, purchase
artworks directly from the site of creation and tour classrooms.
Visitors will also
have the opportunity to provide community feedback on a new mural design by 52
O Street visual artist Lisa Marie Thalhammer. This mural will be located across the street
from the Art Studios at Open Arms Housing (57 O Street NW) who provide
permanent homes with a welcoming and supportive environment to women who are
homeless. This project is funded by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and
Humanities Public Art Building Communities Grant Program.
52 O Street Artist Studios is the oldest, longest lasting live/work space for artists
in the District of Columbia. Occupied by artists since 1978, both emerging and

years. The building provides both living spaces and
creative studio spaces to a variety of artists and designers in different mediums.
FAB LAB DC (1418 North Capitol Street NW) produces workshops, events, speaker series, and
