wine & beer store slated for 1st and U Street NW space, home of the former New Reservoir Market
The location of the former New Reservoir Market at 1st & U Street NW is slated to become a beer and wine store, according to a gentleman with whom I spoke outside the building today.
He said that the store would not sell liquor -- just wine and beer.

Surprising. Is the license for a store that sells all beer and wine the same as a license for a corner store that sells food, and also beer and wine? I know that it is a different license to sell liquor.
