One
of the classes we teach at The
Unified Scene Theater (80 T Street NW, Bloomingdale, DC), entitled
Improv For Business Leaders (Present and Future), was profiled yesterday by
local NPR affiliate WAMU as well as on the nationally syndicated program on
NPR, "All Things Considered." This class, one of our more popular
ones, teaches individuals to be better leaders, colleagues, and collaborators
in their organizations using the principles that inform successful
improvisational comedy: listening, being present, checking your ego at the
door, and corralling around ideas to improve and enhance them. These "soft
skills" have been gaining traction in the corporate world, as more and
more organizations are waking up the to idea that their most important resource
are the people in their orgs, who create the culture daily and can be pivotal
in providing customers, clients, and stakeholders with the experiences that
help drive bottom lines.
Take
