We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help lead
Produce Plus check distribution at the following DC farmers'
markets:
|
|
Weekends:
- Minnesota
Avenue on Saturdays from 9 AM - 1 PM
- Kenilworth-Parkside
on Saturdays from 9 AM - 1 PM
- Quarles
St. on Saturdays from 9 AM - 1 PM
- 14th
& Kennedy on Saturdays from 9 AM - 1 PM
- Capitol
Riverfront on Sundays, 10 AM - 2 PM

Weekdays:
- Rhode
Island Ave (600
RI Ave NE)
on Tuesdays from 12-3 PM
- Hendley
Elementary on Tuesdays from 3-6 PM
- Columbia
Heights on Wednesdays from 4-7 PM (Spanish-speaking preferred)
- Minnesota
Avenue on Thursdays from 2-5 PM
- Congress
Heights on Thursdays from 10 AM - 1 PM
- Community
of Hope/Bellevue Library on Thursdays from 3-6 PM

Why be
a Volunteer Leader?
As a Leader, you will volunteer weekly at your favorite
farmers' market from June - September. You will support Farmers’
Market Brigade volunteers while they distribute Produce Plus
checks, work as part of a team with volunteers and
market staff, help recruit Farmers’ Market Brigade volunteers for
your market, troubleshoot Produce Plus tablets and technology
(training provided), and treat everyone
at-market with respect and kindness.

We need your help! We stuff over 200 volunteer folders for Farmers'
Market Brigade trainings each year and need a couple extra
helpful hands to make it happen.
If you are interested in helping stuff folders next Friday,
April 20th anytime between 10 AM - 6 PM, please contact Mary

The Department of Parks and Recreation's “Growing
Food, Growing Communities” program connects community
members with school gardens to help grow food over the summer
while students are on break.
They still need of a few more volunteers, especially
for East of the River schools! If you would like to
participate in this program, please sign-up
online or contact GrowingFood@dc.gov. Registration
closes April 20th.
