RE:         FORTHCOMING 5G TECHNOLOGY ON STREET LIGHT POLES

I have recently received notification that A T & T Mobility is in the process of applying for  a Public Space Permit from DDOT for the installation of 5G Technology (i.e., wireless telecommunication antennae and small cell equipment) on existing street light poles on the Unit blocks of T Street and Rhode Island Avenue NW. The notification also noted the installation will be "...the first small cell facility to be install [sic] in your single member district".  In addition, the 3/24/19 draft  of DC's Small Cell Guidelines further suggests  that neighborhoods designated as Historic Districts are viewed as  "areas of  special interest"  (re maintenance of streetscape, character, vistas and views) and therefore will have significantly reduced numbers of 5G installations.  Consequently, I am curious about two matters:
  1.   Have residents of other blocks in Bloomingdale received such notices?
  2.   Are there any types of known health, safety and other risks that may be associated with 5G technology  on street light poles?

If you have any information regarding either (or both) of these concerns, please contact me at:

Thanks much!

What will they look like and how large will they be? Has the Historic Preservation Office become involved and taken a position on these installations?

It doesn't seem science has decided about the impact of 5G. This article suggests more research is needed. https://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-biz-5g-health-concerns-chicago-20190419-story.html
