Pano's French baker, Damien, is making his very special French Strawberry
shortcake as a Mother's Day treat Sunday. It is his own recipe: a Genoise
sponge cake base soaked in vanilla syrup, pastry cream, whipped cream, meringue
and local strawberries! He tells me it is as light as a cloud.
