Good news for McMillan

Dear Dianne,

Thank you for your continued expertise, advice and support as we move through the planning and design process for the McMillan property. We are writing today with some good news and to ask for your help!

First – the good news!
HPO staff just made a very favorable recommendation to the Historic Preservation Review Board in advance of our next hearing on October 31st.  They concluded that our revised Master Plan (presented September 26):
  • Represents an architecturally cohesive, high-quality and site-specific series of projects that relate to the character of the landmark, and
  • Retains significant character-defining features of the landmark sufficient to convey its historic character.

If you haven’t seen the revision yet - click here to view our submission to the HPRB.

We need your help
Every voice makes a difference – and too often we’ve seen a vocal minority speaking for the entire community. Your attendance and testimony at the October 31 HPRB hearing will be tremendously impactful. (10:30am at 441 4th St, NW in Room 220-South) If you can’t be there, we hope you will consider written testimony.

It is with so much at stake that we move closer to the finish line of this long journey. We look forward to working with you to see this through!
