Bloomingdale Community Safety Update

Bloomingdale Residents,

As you may have heard, two  attempted break-ins were reported at a home in the neighborhood this week.  It is a reminder to all of us to be vigilant about safety and to look out for our neighbors. Please report any unusual activity to the Metropolitan Police Department immediately.

We will also remind the security guards stationed at the First Street Tunnel Alternate Parking Areas and patrolling the Construction Service Areas around the clock to be on the lookout for anything suspicious in the neighborhood and to report it to MPD. We have already increased the security lighting at Adams and Flagler as a crime deterrent and will review our other security measures as well.

We all know that no amount of security can prevent miscreants from entering the neighborhood and all of us must continue to take reasonable precautions.  But, we want neighbors to know that for the First Street Tunnel team, safety is priority one for both the neighbors and our employees.  We will continue to work with the Fifth District Police and other authorities toward this end.

Thank you.
