Subject: FST Milestone Completed-Adams & Flagler Construction Staging Area-All Secant Piles Now Complete

To All,

The First Street Tunnel Project reached a major milestone today at the Adams & Flagler Construction Staging Area.

Skanska USA and their sub-contractor-Moretrench successfully completed the last of 73 secant piles required for the project. As you have experienced, the secant pile drilling (see attached diagram from a previous public meeting) is a noisy and disruptive construction operation. Although heavy construction activities will continue (approximately 40% of the work is complete project-wide) the most egregious noise and vibration phase of construction activities is now over.

A special thank-you to all the local residents who have been so patient through this difficult period.  Now, the FST Team will be focused on construction of  the drop shaft and the sewer diversion chamber. Once the shaft is excavated, SKJD will be in the shaft digging a micro-tunnel (adit) under Adams Street. All these new structures are intended to divert sewerage from the existing Flagler Truck Sewer and direct excess sewer and storm water flows from the area down into the new tunnel.

Please continue to call the FST 24/7 Hotline (844) FST-INFO / (844) 378-4636 with any questions or concerns about the project.

Sincere Regards,

Tom
