Alto saxophonist Marshall Keys leads the Hill Center
Jazz Ensemble with a repertoire that focuses on his distinctive
writing for small ensemble.
The native Washingtonian has collaborated with
countless notable jazz artists, including Jimmy McGriff,
Jimmy Scott, Lionel Hampton, Stevie Wonder, Clark Terry, Jimmy
Heath, Groove Holmes and Jimmy Witherspoon. Mr. Keys is
a veteran of a host of jazz festivals in Europe and Southeast
Asia, has lectured at the National Gallery of Art, and twice
served as a Jazz Ambassador for the U.S. State Department.
