Eater's Guide to Eating in Bloomingdale

Welcome to Bloomingdale, a small D.C. neighborhood situated just within Northwest D.C. It's a place teeming with many great options to eat and drink as of late.

Sure, much has changed here over the past few years (especially property values), but somehow Bloomingdale remains committed to community. Take, for instance, The Red Hen. It's one of the hardest tables to get in town, but there are always tables and a giant bar area available for walk-ins as restaurant policy.

Bloomingdale is low on pretentiousness and high on warmth and hospitality. Those who don't live here know it for the standbys like Big Bear Cafe, Boundary Stone, and Rustik. Now there's an exciting new crop of restaurants and bars— places like Crisp, Wicked Bloom, and The Pub & The People.

It's a safe bet that there's plenty more to come. But no matter how much the neighborhood changes, one thing is not going anywhere: the combo special at Showtime (a beer and a shot) for the bargain rate of $5.
