Actor
Blair Underwood ("L.A. Law", "Quantico") Visits, Learns
Improv At The Unified Scene Theater
This
weekend we at The Unified Scene Theater (80 T Street NW, Bloomingdale, DC)
taught improv and improv games to former "L.A. Law" and current
"Marvel: Agents of Shield" and "Quantico" cast member Blair
Underwood (he's the good-looking guy on the left, as opposed to the
not-as-good-looking guy, yours truly, one of the co-founders of The Unified
Scene Theater).
Improv
is no longer something's that simply "nice to have" on your acting
resume: it's become a necessary tool in a performer's toolbox as more and more
directors use it in both the rehearsal process as well as to discover
"in-the-moment" choices for performance. In addition to Mr.
Underwood, we at The Unified Scene Theater have taught improv to a number of
people who have gone on to do great things in comedy and performing, including
a cast member of Broad City, a current mainstage performer at Chicago's
legendary The Second City, a current writer for Saturday Night Live, a current
contestant on Food Network's "Cutthroat Kitchen" -- even a former
congressman. And there's an opportunity for you to learn with us, too: we're
currently registering for our next Introduction to Improv Class, which starts a
week from today.
If
you're ready to take the next step in your performance career, feel free to
register at this link: https://squareup.com/store/the-unified-scene-theater/item/a-night-of-improvised-musical
Just
a heads-up, though: this class is nearly SOLD OUT, with only TWO spaces
remaining.
Hope
to see you on the scene...
