Neighbors,

Our hospitality, retail and entertainment industries have been among the hardest hit during the COVID-19 recession, thousands of our residents are unemployed or under-employed. In July, I introduced the Business Support Grant Emergency Amendment Act of 2020. The measure has now been funded and announced under the Bridge Fund.  The Bridge Fund is an investment in businesses and workers grappling with the COVID-19 public health emergency in the hospitality, entertainment, and retail industries.  Funds are being distributed by way of four different programs—$35M to restaurants, $30M to hotels, $20M to entertainment, and $15M to retail. Applications for Hotels and restaurants are available now at
https://coronavirus.dc.gov/bridgefund. Applications for the entertainment and retail industry will be open by December 22nd.

The District's independently owned small businesses and the workers they employ need our support as we continue to navigate our way through the various challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.  During the holiday season consider shopping with our small business community.  Looking for a list of DC small businesses take a look at the link
