Subject: Crime in Bloomingdale
Dear Councilman,
Over the past two weeks, we have had at least two residents--both females--robbed at gun point while walking to and from their homes. We also had at least one home broken into and robbed. Crime in and around Bloomingdale is still unacceptably high. I believe our men and women in uniform are doing their absolutely best job they can with the resources provided to them.
That said, spring is right around the corner and it has been a difficult winter for our residents. All too many have been touched by some element of crime over the past few months; be it package theft, stolen cars, or being outright robbed at gun point. Without safety and security, no other aspect of our city will be healthy.
I would like to know how the city plans to further resource and support MPD to stem the tide against crime in our area. Our residents need to feel safe, and the status quo is unacceptable.
Respectfully,
Austin L. Pearl
