Subject: Remembering Sara Kaufman
Dear
Friends of Crispus Attucks Park,
Many of you know already, but Crispus Attucks Park lost a dear
friend and supporter, Sara Kaufman, on September
20th.
Sara supported the Crispus Attucks Park family for years, donating
her time, her strength, her pick-up truck, and--most
importantly--her friendship and wit to keeping the Park going both
physically and emotionally.
The CADC Board sends their sympathy and love to Sara’s
family and friendsin the Bloomingdale community
and farther afield.
Some current and former Board members sent these remembrances:
“Sara was
always quick to help, and I even have a copy of her truck’s key,
which she made for me, when we borrowed it so often for the park.”
“Sarah was such
a wonderful and committed person!”
"Sara spent
many, many, many hours clipping and trimming and raking and weeding
in the park. She helped out with the Yard Sale day, and was at every
fundraiser and event we had for many years. She was always cheerful
and sarcastic and incredibly genuine. I will miss her a lot. She
was a really special person."
"Sara has
been a long supporter of the park. I can remember her working in the
park for many years. She had a kind and generous spirit."
"The kind
of human with always so much positivity and a smile on her
face."
The Crispus Attucks Park Board will be honoring Sara at our annual
Fall Fundraiser, to be held on Sunday, November 3rd at 34 V St
NW from 2:30-5pm. Please join us to remember her wonderful spirit.
