three new condos on the market at 216 Florida Avenue NW (property is commercially zoned C-2-A); no rear exits; front entrances only

I stopped by this open house at 216 Florida Avenue NW.

The realtor at the open house indicated that the property is commercially zoned and therefore it is legally okay to have one means of egress -- in this case, the front doors.  There are no back doors.

Note that this property is located where Florida Avenue NW and R Streets NW smoosh together.  There is no backyard or rear egress at all.  A totally landlocked building.  So if there were backdoors, one would be greeted by a wall or a chainlink fence.
