Date: Fri, 24 Oct 2014 21:26:48 +0000

Greetings DC Water Stakeholder,

DC Water’s Contractor- Ft. Myer Construction is replacing 320 feet of a critical water transmission line located in Adams Street NW in the District.  Construction work is ongoing and will continue through this Saturday, October 25th. Work will resume on Monday, October 27th from 7 AM to 7 PM, six days per week, and twelve hours a day with three crews for approximately four weeks or until the water line replacement work is complete.  It is important to note that local residents will not lose potable water service or water pressure since the 30 inch regional line was isolated from the distribution system in advance of the work. It should be noted that this large pipeline is critical to the DC Water’s water transmission system therefore the work must be completed as soon as possible.

Local residents have been experiencing increased construction noise and disruption along Adams Street with the emergency water line replacement work. We apologize for the disruption. No parking restrictions have been posted. However, since Adams Street residents are within the affected area of the ongoing construction of the First Street Tunnel Project, Adams Street residents from Second Street to First Street with motor vehicles registered in the District are eligible for off-street parking. DC Water’s Bryant Street lot is located across Second Street from Adams Street NW. Alternative Parking Areas ( APAs) application forms are available in the vestibule of DC Water’s First Street Tunnel Site office at 2036 First Street NWThe office is at the intersection of V Street NW. The APA application can also be downloaded from the web at www.dcwater.com  Completed applicationswith the required documentationcan be submitted to the Security Guard at the DC Water’s Bryant Street parking lot, Monday through Friday.

Please contact the 24/7 First Street Tunnel Hotline (844)FST-INFO/ (844) 378-4636 with questions or concerns about the Adams Street water pipeline emergency work.

We appreciate your continued cooperation as we upgrade the water system in your area.

Thanks, Tom
