**Corrected Parade Route**

TRAFFIC ADVISORY:  Howard University Homecoming Parade

On Saturday, October 18, 2014, the 2014 Howard University Homecoming Parade will take place in the District of Columbia.  In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

The staging area time will be 7:00 am in front of Johnson Administration Building (2400 6^th Street NW) on the campus of Howard University. The parade start time will be 10:00 am and will conclude approximately at 12:30 pm at which time the roadways will re-open to traffic.

Parade Route

• North on 6^th Street, NW
• Left onto Fairmont Street, NW
• Left onto Georgia Avenue, NW
• Southbound on Georgia Avenue, NW
• Left onto Florida Avenue, NW
• Continue eastbound on Florida Avenue, NW
• Left onto 5^th Street, NW
• Northbound on 5^th Street, NW
• Right onto T Street, NW
• Eastbound on T Street, NW
• Left onto 4^th Street, NW
• Continue Northbound on 4^th Street, NW
• Left on Howard Street NW (End of the parade)

All street closures and listed times are subject to change based upon prevailing or unexpected conditions.

Motorists could encounter possible delays if operating in the vicinity of this event and may wish to consider alternative routes.  The Metropolitan Police Department and the D.C. Department of Transportation also wishes to remind motorists in the vicinity of this event to proceed with caution as increased pedestrian traffic can be anticipated.
