A majority of D.C. voters say they will vote for a ballot initiative that would legalize the possession of marijuana, and believe the name of Washington's football team is disparaging to Native Americans.
According to a poll commissioned by The Kojo Nnamdi Showand the Washington City Paper, 52 percent of the 591 likely voters polled between October 20-22 say that they will vote for Initiative 71, which would allow residents to possess up to two ounces of marijuana and grow up to six plants in their homes.

Among other findings of the poll:
- Opinion is split on plans for redeveloping the McMillan Sand Filtration site: 26 percent of voters support a current plan, 28 percent oppose it and 46 percent are unsure.
