yes there was a park but it wasn't on the proposed site the city is gong to develop. It was on the other side of First Street so stop trying to bullshit the public with misinformation.

The Highline in NY was not a park. It was an elevated railroad and City Planners with real Vision have created the most successful park, but Commish knows better. That is on the West side of Manhattan. The lower East side is planning The Lowline, a submerged underground park , with skylights and plantings, where an old subway and trolley track and stations were unused for decades. We can be smart too. Save McMillan Park, and the 20 acres underground cisterns as back up for water security. We have to stop the theft of our public land by VMP, and collusive DC govt. The biggest land theft since Manhattan!
