Dear
Resident,
Please
see our weekly updated leaf collection schedule below. Please be
aware, our leaf crews work as part of the District’s Snow Team, and our
equipment is also used for both. As such, whenever we deploy for
snow (including pretreating roads), our leaf operations are put on
pause. This process includes breaking down our trucks, equipping them
for snow operations, and then the same thing in reverse after the snow
deployment.
With the
forecast calling for at least one inch of snow late tonight, the DC
Snow Team will be pretreating all District roads overnight ahead of the
morning commute. We expect to return to leaf collection operations once
deployment has ended and our personnel and equipment can be safely
reassigned. Please share this information with your friends and
neighbors and check snow.dc.gov. for the latest on the winter weather
event.
Below
you will find the latest update, as of January 3, 2018, to the leaf
collection schedule by ward.

*As a
reminder, residents should put their Christmas trees and holiday
greenery out where their trash and recycling is collected between
January 13 and February 2. Holiday trees and greenery will be collected
on residents’ regularly scheduled
recycling days during this period. Trees should
only be placed at the curb if that is where their recyclables are
normally collected. This collection service is only available
to residents who are serviced by DPW. DPW collects trash and
recyclables from single-family homes and apartment/condo buildings with
three or fewer living units.
