seeking a charity that will pick up furniture in Bloomingdale

From a resident on the unit block of U Street NW:

We have a couple pieces of furniture we would like to donate to a charity. However, we need to have it picked up from our house and we are having problems finding a group that picks up from our neighborhood. Does anyone know which charity will pick up furniture from 20001?

What kind of furniture are you looking to unload? Some of the guys who work in Crispus Attucks park from time to time might take it off your hands for free....if interested do you have an email address i could contact you at?

Definitely the Goodwill will pick up furniture. They are located in NE, I will have to find their number. I dropped off there last week and the receipt has the number to call for them to pick up furniture. I asked if they could pick some up from me and the answer was a definite YES. I will post the number tonight.

Community Forklift will pick up some types of furniture - www.communityforklift.org. And I think so will National Children's Center - www.nccpickup.org.

If you want to just get rid of something quickly, I recommend www.freecycle.org.

I have a desk I was going to put on there next week, so if anybody needs one, let me know...

I think Salvation Army is your best bet.
