residents,
July
11-17, 2013, members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. will be in the
District for the sorority's 51st National Convention and Centennial
Celebration. Official events will be held at Howard University, the Verizon
Center, the Convention Center and on the Mall. There are approximately 32,000
members registered for the convention and the sorority anticipates that there
will be an additional 30,000 members in the District for various related
festivities. The community should expect increased vehicle/pedestrian traffic
near Howard University and the other venues.
