Aria Development Group To Host Walking Concert and Food Share, “Walk To Children’s,” on May 7 to Thank our City’s Healthcare Workers  

Washington, D.C. (May 6, 2020) -- Aria Development Group, the creative real estate maestros behind The Clifton, The Bond, The Alden and the future residential community at 1 Florida Avenue NE, is sponsoring an inspirational walking concert and food share with some of Ward 5’s beloved institutions.

Tomorrow, on Thursday, May 7th from 6 to 7:15pm, Aria will tap a team of musicians from 7DrumCity, a Bloomingdale community music hub with music lessons, rehearsal space and a live venue, for a walking concert to deliver care packages to healthcare staff at Children’s National Hospital. Eight musicians -- all equipped with mobile musical equipment including speakers, drums and guitars -- will assemble at 7DrumCity (1506 North Capitol St. NW) to kick off the walk. They will embark on a 45 minute journey north on First Street NW, with a finale performance at 7pm, outside the main entrance of Children’s National Hospital off Michigan Avenue. While practicing social distancing, the performance encourages Washingtonians to catch a glimpse from the comfort of their windows and is sure to spread cheer to the neighborhood and to the healthcare staff through music.

Aria founder Joshua Benaim, who sang opera professionally around the world before founding his company, was inspired by the idea of music bringing people together in times of crisis. “We wanted to give a huge thank you to the heroic healthcare workers who have shown incredible dedication in these trying times. I look to music for inspiration in times of crisis, and music has given us hope — from the balconies of Italy to the Metropolitan Opera at-home gala. We hope to share some joy and sustenance with the D.C. community that has given us all so much” he says.

Aria has joined forces with North Capitol Main Street to spread the word about Thursday’s initiative, to help keep the music alive, and to help mitigate negative financial effects of COVID-19 on a critical creative city resource.

Walking concert route:

• 6pm-6:15pm: Concert will start at 7DrumCity (1506 North Capitol St. NW). The musicians will then head up North Capitol Street to make a left on R, with a stop at Big Bear Cafe for one or two songs 
• 6:15pm: Musicians will then head north on First Street NW — directly to Children’s National Hospital 
• 7pm-7:15pm: Finale performance outside at the main entrance of Children’s National Hospital
