shooting at the Park at LeDroit today

Hi,
         
I am extremely disappointed to report there was a shooting at Ledroit Park about 1 hour ago. My son (2 years), niece (1.5 years), sister and nanny were at the park and had to duck down and take cover while four guys had a fight and began shooting back and forth at each other. Everyone is fine, but one of the guys fighting was shot and injured. Apparently the area filled up with police quickly after the shooting.
       
This is extremely concerning. If anyone has ideas what we can do to make our parks safe for our kids please share.
