Suspect Sought in Stabbing Attacks
(Washington, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a suspect responsible for attacking women. Detectives are investigating four recent incidents that appear to be similar in nature. In each incident, a male subject approached a woman while she was alone and stabbed or cut her with an unknown sharp object. In some cases the suspect fled when the victim screamed. The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries. Detectives are investigating the following incidents:
- Sunday, May 5, 2013, at approximately 11:15 pm, an adult female was exiting her vehicle in the 400 block of Emerson Street NW, when a male suspect approached her and began stabbing her. The suspect fled when he saw a male witness. The suspect was wearing a dark hooded track suit with a large horizontal white stripe on the chest, and a yellow stripe on the sleeve.
- Monday, June 10, 2013, at approximately 10:30 pm, an adult female was in the 1300 block of Decatur Street NW, when a male suspect grabbed her from behind and stabbed her. The suspect then fled. He was wearing yellow and black shirt with dark pants.
- Friday, June 14, 2013, at approximately 12:05 am, an adult female was walking in the unit block of Adams Street NW, when a male suspect grabbed her from behind. The victim resisted and the suspect stabbed her and fled.
- Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at approximately 12:15 am, an adult female was walking in the 1100 block of Allison Street NW, when a suspect approached her from behind and tackled her to the ground. The suspect produced a sharp object, cut the victim, and fled.
The suspect is described as being a black or Hispanic male with a light to medium complexion, short brown hair, and is 5-feet-8-inches to 6-feet-1-inches tall, with a slim athletic build.
