have you signed up yet for one of the three Saturday DC Water 1st Street Tunnel Hard Hat Tours ?

Here is the link to the DC Water 1st Street Tunnel message below:

Here is a great opportunity for residents and project stakeholders to see DC Water's local flood relief construction project up close. You will have the opportunity to see first-hand the main mining shaft, the tunnel boring machine (Lucy), visit other construction areas and speak to the senior construction staff. The purpose of Community Hard Hat Day is an effort by the FST Team to provide the community an opportunity to learn more about this important environmental project.
For your convenience, three separate tours will be offered: 9:00 am; 12:00 noon and 2:30 pm. If you would like to participate, please set aside two to two and one half hours on that day. All tours will begin at the main mining shaft site at 2507 First Street, NW, in the SKJD construction trailer, located at the far end of the site, along the McMillian Sand Filter silos. Parking is available at the lot across from the main mining shaft site adjacent to the Army Corps of Engineers entrance or at the Bryant Street lot, corner of 2nd and Bryant Street NW.
This Tour will include a trip down the main mining shaft and into the tunnel along with a walking tour inside the V Street and Adams Street Construction Staging Areas. All tours begin with brief safety training since participants will be required to adhere to project safety protocol. Also, all tour participants will be required to sign a "Visitor Release and Indemnification Form." And it is critical that participants wear flat, sturdy shoes (no open toe sandals or high heels). We will also need your shoe size for muck boots along with your safety-vest size (small, medium, large or ex-large) so that we can provide you with the proper safety gear for entry onto the construction site(s). Please have this information available when making your site tour reservation with Vickey Wilcher. DC Water and SKJD will provide necessary accommodations for those with special needs with advance notice.
Since tour space is limited, please note that participants will need to reserve space in their preferred time slot in advance of the tour. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. All tour participants must be at least 18 years old or older. We apologize, but children and pets will not be allowed to participate.
You may reserve your space by responding to this email (please remember to include your shoe and vest size in your message); or you may call Vickey Wilcher at 202.787.4717 with any questions or concerns.
Don't forget to make your reservations. We look forward to seeing you on the tour!
The FST Team
