Thanksgiving Food and Winter Coat Drive
Last year St. Martin’s Church delivered almost 100
Thanksgiving meals to shut-ins and served Thanksgiving dinner to over 250
homeless persons. After dinner the homeless were given the opportunity to
pick up warm clothes to help them through the winter.
From now until November 19th St. Martins is having a food
and coat drive to support this year’s Thanksgiving Dinner.
If you have any warm clothes, socks, hats, glove or coats
(especially men’s winter coats) please consider donating them. If
you would like to donate food please see the attached flier for
instructions. Please drop the clothes or food off at back of St. Martin’s
Catholic Church (NW corner of North Capitol Street NW and T Street NW) Sunday
morning between 8:00AM and 1:00PM. If you want to drop the clothes or
food off on Thanksgiving day please come between 8:00AM and 10:00AM and drop
them off at the Church Hall downstairs of the church (entrance on T Street).
We continually give out both clothes and food throughout the
winter, so any Sunday either clothes or food donations are very much
appreciated. Receipts for tax purposes are available upon
request.
Peace,
Fr. Mike Kelley
