Subject:  Langley Elementary Enrollment Meet and Greet

We are hosting an Enrollment Meet and Greet on Saturday, April 13th from 10am-12pm at Langley Education Campus at 101 T St, NE to invite current and prospective families to view the school, learn about the curriculum and meet one another. Please join us!

Langley is a Tools of the Mind school for Preschool, Pre-K and K. Through this program students learn to cooperate in the classroom, focus their attention, remember things for long periods of time and other learning skills. These skills are taught while students are being exposed to academic themes that change every few weeks.

As an example of how the program integrates academic and cognitive development, Tools of the Mind preschool classrooms have children learn restraint by working in pairs on math or letters. Each child holds a card marked with an ear, lips, hand or check as a reminder of his or her role -- to listen, read, perform a task or check a partner's work.

In kindergarten classrooms, the teacher is able to provide reading instruction appropriate for each student and level because the students are able to carry out their center assignments with the support of each other and the classroom teaching assistant.

Currently we have filled 2 Pre-K and 1 Preschool classroom. We are looking for 3 year olds to help us fill another preschool classroom. You need to act fast! Learn more about our program and enroll now!  You can find enrollment papers online here.   .

Shout out to David Tansey for coordinating this open house event at Langley. An impressive crowd of parents -- many from Bloomingdale -- attended. Perhaps we will see more Bloomingdale children participating in the pre-school, pre-K and K programs there. And the school building itself is wonderful.
