Softer, Softest
Curated by Eames Armstrong, Softer, Softest explores the condition of softness: the digital “soft” and the sculptural soft. Exhibiting artists include Megan Blafas, Rania Hassan, Matt Hollis, Leslie McConnaughey, Rene Medrano, Ziad Nagy, Cory Oberndorfer, John Paradiso, Jane Claire Remick, and Jade Yumang.
Softer, Softest is an exhibition on being soft. Examining what it is to be pliable, or easily molded. To be pleasing to touch, not harshly defined.

Delicious Spectacle is a curatorial experiment and project space founded by Victoria Greising, Megan Mueller, Dan Perkins,Camden Place, and Sam Scharf. The space is located on the first floor of a row house in the Columbia Heights neighborhood.
Cuisine des Artistes Cuisine des Artistes 2014 is DC Arts Center’s 25th Anniversary Gala, an evening of food and fun where chefs and artists collaborate to create culinary masterpieces. Rania has been paired with chef Doug Cooperman of Open Kitchen to create a piece titled Interwoven: A hand knit dress interwoven with a Dark Chocolate Lavender Truffle held by a Dried Sour Cherry and Rosemary Breadstick knitting needle. This piece explores the connections of life, friendship, community and family. The coupling of memories through shared experiences.

The Grace of Craft
The Grace of Craft is a show of contemporary craft curated by Gisele Huberman. Artists include: Phil Brown, Elissa Farrow-Savos, Gayle Friedman, Rania Hassan, Sean Hennessey, Tamara Laird, Laurel Lukaszewski, Jan Maddox, Donna McCullough, Nikki O’Neill, Komelia Okim, Chris Shea, Tim Tate, Novie Trump, Andrea Uravitch, Rick Wall, and Nancy Weisser.
Craft can tell stories. It can move us. It can serve us and adorn us. And it does all this in a quiet, self-effacing way.
