Greetings First Street Tunnel Stakeholder,
We are pleased to report that the First Street Tunnel project is at the 63.2% completion point and we are making every effort to recover lost time.  Our goal remains to complete the project in Spring 2016.
Please see below for most recent activities and updates:

Tunnel Forum: The next FSTF will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. George’s Episcopal Church, located at 160 U Street, NW; from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.
This meeting replaces the regularly scheduled July meeting. Please note that we will continue to adhere to the bi-monthly schedule; hosting the final meeting of the 2015 year on Thursday, October 22 (there will be no FSTF in November and December).  2016 meetings are tentatively set to begin on Thursday, January 21 (the 2016 meeting schedule will be confirmed, based on church availability). We will alert you regarding any changes in date, time or location.
Topics of discussion at the August 20 meeting will include:
  • ·         a construction update
  • ·         an update regarding the AS-CSA FEMS mural project
  • ·         a community discussion (open topic)

FST Hotline: Upon learning of a glitch—resident stakeholder calls were being dropped when they attempted to use the hotline—in the hotline’s system, DC Water and SKJD immediately worked to correct the issue. The matter was resolved and the hotline was returned to full functionality.
As a reminder, please use the hotline as your first line of communication to report any issue. This is the most efficient and effective way for the DC Water and SKJD team to receive, address and resolve your concerns.

September Stakeholder Update and CSA and Main Mining Shaft Tour: DC Water is working with SKJD to host a community event that will include a construction update, CSA tours and a tour of the main mining shaft. The FST Outreach Team will solicit comments and answer any questions residents may have at the August 20 FSTF (as always, you may also contact the outreach team directly for more information).
Again, please don’t forget to avail yourselves of the 24 Hour FST Hotline—1-844-FST-INFO [1-844-378-4636]—if you have any questions or concerns about the project.

We appreciate your participation and support in this very important project and we look forward to seeing you at the meeting on Thursday, August 20.

Sincere Regards,
The FST Outreach Team
