As it does annually, the District Department of Transportation is spraying female ginkgo biloba trees this week in all eight wards—with a chemical known as Shield-3EC 24(C)—to combat their "offensive" smelling fruit. DDOT says in a release that the treatment started on Sunday at 9 p.m. and it will last until Thursday.
