136 Quincy Place NE: "Quelle Horreur! Sacrilege!"

This message is from a T Street NW resident (and not from me):

QUELLE HORREUR ! SACRILEGE ! ! ! ! !

"A Mississippi Barge has somehow fallen from the sky and landed on top of two Eckington rowhouses!"

-Unit 1: $549K (basement, 1st floor)
-Unit 2: $635K (2nd & 3rd floors)

It is hard to believe the asking prices for the units in that abomination/eyesore --- we are in for a disaster!

Neighborhood historic designation now!

Imagine this being built next to one of our houses in Bloomingdale. Absolutely awful. An addition could have been done in a sensitive way to avoid this monstrosity. Historic designation now!

Yes - unfortunately, these "low quality, but high priced" flip jobs are sprouting up throughout our neighborhood like wild mushrooms - threatening the original charm and character of Eckington & Bloomingdale that has survived to this day. It deserves to be protected from unscrupulous flippers/developers who don't live here and can care less about the impact their "investment" leaves behind!

After years of my family being against historic designation, we now support it because we see how developers and city govt are ruining the feel of our neighborhood in exchange for more density...for more sales...for more tax revenue as fast as possible.

Sadly the MLS listing pictures do not even give a full sense of just how invasive these pop-ups are. I agree completely with taxpayer in that I'm someone previously against historic designation who has now fully embraced it because of all the thoughtless development going on in the neighborhood. Hopefully the Small Area Plan for the neighborhood and surrounding neighborhoods will help the movement to gain some traction.

You have these ugly pop-ups in Bloomingdale too. On the corner across from Bacio Pizza. Get used to them, unless you work to get Bloomingdale historic designation.
