Subject: Reminder: Bloomingdale Project Starting on 9/25

Dear Bloomingdale Residents,

This is a reminder following the community update that was distributed last week. On tomorrow, September 25th, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will begin the final phase of the Bloomingdale Surface Water Management Project. DDOT will be installing permeable brick pavers in the alley next to Mt. Bethel Baptist Church on the 1900 block of 1st St NW.  Permeable brick pavers are designed to allow water to penetrate the brick. The water will be collected in an underground pipe and slowly released to the combined sewer system

The construction will be limited to the alley immediately adjacent to Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. During this time expect sidewalks in the immediate area to be closed.  Pedestrians will be rerouted as necessary.  Motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists are urged to stay alert and use caution when traveling by the work zone. Construction may last up to four weeks during the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm, Monday-Friday.

Residents in the 1900 block of 1st St NW and Rhode Island Ave NW (who will be directly impacted by construction) have been given specific instructions for their trash collection.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please contact the Public Outreach Coordinator, Chancee` Lundy, at  202-630-9353.

Warmly,

Chancee` Lundy
