Visitor Parking Passes -- set to expire on 09-30-3013 -- will be extended

The purple Visitor Parking Passes are set to expire at the end of the month.  So what's the scoop with residents being able to request and obtain the next VPP pass?

First, read this message from Bloomingdame:

All -

Here is some info about the visitor parking pass program. I called yesterday and they said they hope to have it up and running next week. Note that the current passes will be valid for an additional 30 days.

And now read the text of a 09-11-2013 message from Ward 1 Councilmember Graham (I have not included the long Email thread -- just CM Graham's most recent Email in the long Email thread):

Subject: [LeDroitPark] Visitor Passes will be Extended/Important Clarification--Please Pass On to Others

  Dear Friends,

DDOT has advised me that the Visitor Passes (set to expire on September 30) will be extended, since eth rules are just being finalized. So there ought to be  no need to worry about that.

The email exchanges below explain an importunate clarification I wanted to obtain.

Now I am assured that there will be clear language indicating that VPP eligibility (at least in Ward One) is linked to being a resident within a participating ANC. It is not connected to hither or not you live on a designated RPP block.

I want the broadest possible availability of these passes in the ward I represent.

So that mattered.

Since there have been recent significant changes in the DDOT staff, I am now asking Dir Bellamy to designate a point person to resolve problems.

Bests CM Jim Graham
