First, visit Eric Fidler`s 2011 Left For LeDroit blog post on
the McMillan fountain and the Truxton Circle fountain, whose pieces "sit
decaying and neglected in the woods of a national park in Maryland. The
fountains had been missing from the 1940s until they were rediscovered in the
woods of Fort Washington National Park in the 1970s."
Eric and Bloomingdale resident Blomingdame visited the
unnamed national park in Maryland a few days ago. Here are some Bloomingdame comments: "The pieces of the McMillan fountain seem fine - they are granite, and can endure the weather. Some pieces are damaged, but that may be from all of the moves they have made over the years. The iron pieces of the Truxton Circle fountain are rusting, of course. "
